"(Marvel Studios chief) Kevin (Feige) and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it's going to go. The sequel features the Guardians fighting to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage.

The entire cast is at the top its game here, and nowhere is that more evident than in the interplay between Quill (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana).

"Guardians 2" is expected to enjoy one of the biggest opening weekends ever with critics agreed that its sharp one-liners make it - like its predecessor - a cut above the average superhero fare. That being said, we won't say that they loved it as much as the loved the first film. Either way, we'll have to wait it out and see how the films unfold to determine what could be coming next.

Voiced by Vin Diesel, the computer-generated character usually says just one thing - "I am Groot" - but it means everything, and his intergalactic comrades always seem to understand his (often foul-mouthed) message. "I didn't want it to be a rehash of the first movie". Of course, we knew how hard a task that would be.

However, he quickly added that the serious and "pretty horrifying past" of objectifying women in Hollywood made it an altogether more serious issue. But in lieu of that, you can catch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in theaters May 5, and watch the preview of the next Guardians "episode" on repeat until then.
