Cher, who received the Icon award, sang her dance anthem "Believe" in a glittery number that included pasties and blonde hair with pink tips. The carpet was filled with outrageous textures and silhouettes.

DRAKE toppled Adele's record for the most prizes in a single night at the Billboard Music Awards when he was presented with the best artist accolade. The Canadian rap artist won a total of 13 awards, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.

With its ongoing partnership with the leading global smartphones brand Vivo Electronic Corp for eight of their worldwide awards, the 2017 Billboard Music Awards will be the second award show in the partnership. Another highlight was Celine Dion.

Under a glittering chandelier and dressed in a Met-worthy white gown, Dion wowed the audience with her performance and earned one of the biggest cheers of the night. The Chainsmokers, who tied Drake with 22 nominations, won four awards, while other top winners, Beyonce and twenty one pilots, both won five each, but did not attend.

Dan Reynolds of the rock band Imagine Dragons led a moment of silence for Chris Cornell, who died Thursday. This appearance will also mark her first ever award show performance in over 15 years.

According to the People Magazine, the "Anaconda" hit-maker began her performance with dancers before making her grand entrance in a black leather and silver bedazzled costume.

Even Drake took notice in his acceptance speech, adding that Hudgens looked "amazing", which drew envious looks from Nicki Minaj.

The Chainsmokers performed "Young" with Andrew Taggart on vocals and Alex Pall behind the board (they were also backed by a drummer), and Drake performed from the Fountains of Bellagio.

BTS' award follows that of fellow South Korean PSY, who became the first K-pop solo artist to win a Billboard Music Award in 2014, for Top Streaming Song, Gangnam Style.
