'Deadliest Catch' captain Sig Hansen tweets apology after arrest

"Deadliest Catch" star Sig Hansen faces misdemeanor charges Thursday after what police describe as a fight with an Uber driver.

The gossip site claims that he is now facing charges of assault and property destruction. Take him to the brig (sorry, had to)! According to the police report, Hansen's ride was canceled while the 51-year-old was still in the vehicle. However, he later told officers that his son-in-law offered the driver $100 for the ride, and that he thought the driver was stupid for not accepting it.

This answer infuriated Sig as he supposedly spat on the driver and the driver's seat. According to the police report. the app canceled his ride, even though Sig was already in the vehicle with his family.

Upon the cops arrival, the officers noticed spit inside the auto and a large dent on the outside of the automobile. When they next went to Hansen's home, he was "obviously intoxicated". The Scandinavian-heavy neighborhood marked Norwegian Constitution Day on Wednesday, though it wasn't immediately clear if Hansen had been partaking in post-Syttende Mai revelry prior to the altercation. Well that's not a good excuse for being rude! Cops say Sig initially denied any wrongdoing, and tried to walk back inside his home.

"When the driver told them that Uber doesn't work that way, they can't pay with cash, the suspect became insistent", he said. He was released after posting $2,000 bail Thursday afternoon, and is set to be formally arraigned on Saturday.
