Celtics' Isaiah Thomas misses second half of Game 2 with hip strain

Kyrie Irving had 23 points for the Cavaliers, who return home with a chance to finish off the Celtics in Cleveland. A four-game losing streak and a pair of three-game losing streaks by the Cavs in the final month conceded the best-record to Boston, and LeBron rested four times down the stretch.

"He's not scared", said Cavaliers head coach Ty Lue. I know Brad's going to make some adjustments. It's one game, and we know this team is a very scrappy team. But from a players and coaches standpoint, they're not satisfied.

Boston: LeBron James lit up Boston's TD Garden with a stellar display as the Cleveland Cavaliers crushed the Celtics 130-86 to race to a 2-0 lead in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Hip strain aside, Thomas has been completely engulfed.

While it was an all-around ugly first-half performance for Boston, Thomas particularly struggled. Bradley Beal and the Wizards took Boston to the seven-game limit in the semifinals, and then Beal went on Washington TV and said the Cavs tanked late in the season in order to avoid matching up with the Wizards and their quick guards in the second round.

'Today I thought he looked much different in the first half. "When we went back to the locker room, our training staff and doctors got with him". Thomas didn't play in the second half due to what the team said was a hip injury. That guy's a tough guy, and he plays through a lot.

"It's hard to take", Al Horford said.

"Not 44 points' worth", said Thomas, per ESPN's Chris Forsberg. I'm not sure I can say the same for the Cavs, who could come into this game overconfident and a bit complacent. "Ultimately, they were terrific".

The win was the Cavaliers' 13th straight in the playoffs, dating back to the last three games of the finals past year. In the process, the Cavaliers tied an National Basketball Association record with their 13th straight playoff victory. It's not ideal to get whacked in back-to-back playoff games, but Brown is getting some rare experience for a rookie.

Cleveland has yet to lose a game in this postseason, going 9-0 SU and 6-2-1 ATS, and those two pointspread losses came in the first two games against in in the first round, more than a month ago. I mean, they definitely showed a few bodies that was aggressive on me, but that's nothing I haven't seen this whole year. "What you going to do about it?"

But here's the rub for top-seeded Boston on Friday night: James said he wasn't even playing at peak condition after Cleveland's 10-day layoff between rounds. This league knows what I bring to the table. "I think that happens sometimes, but I think it's more rare than you think". "That's not for me to be concerned about".

LeBron James had 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting, his ninth consecutive playoff game with at least 30 points.
