Celtic worthy of awards nomination dominance says Kieran Tierney

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers faces a battle to keep hold of star striker Moussa Dembele during the summer transfer window.

"I've played against him for a number of years and even at Dundee United I knew he would go on to better things because he was such a standout performer and it's no surprise to see him reaching these heights". I look at Kante down south, a central midfield player who is not flash and does the dirty work - but does it to a real top level.

"For us up here, I think that's what Scott Brown does".

Rodgers, though, would not reveal whether 31-year-old Brown would have been his choice for player of the year.

The nominees for Young Player of the Year are Dembele, Patrick Roberts and Kieran Tierney of Celtic, with Jason Cummings of Hibernian seeking to disrupt the Hops' near-monopoly.

Celtic's Scott Sinclair has insisted that the racism he encountered at Ibrox on Saturday has not altered his positive feelings about living in Scotland.

However, he praised the consistency and leadership shown by Brown throughout the campaign.

"I can only remember him having one bad game since I have been up here and that was Hearts when we won the league and he said it himself that he was hopeless". He has been superb.

"So I found it incredible, really, that a player who has played at the very highest level from the first game (isn't nominated)".

Rodgers was largely doomed when Liverpool floundered in trying to replace Suarez, and ended up with Balotelli.

"Scott has been playing the game for quite a long time and it says something that it's the first time he has come across it in his life".

Hoops winger Sinclair has spoken of his disbelief after Rangers fan Paul Kenny admitted aiming a vile monkey gesture at him. "He has got all the support of all the people here and the supporters and he moves on from it".

"There are obviously good players in other teams but we've been relentless this season, every game has been at 100%, so that's why there are a few Celtic players here".
