Arsenal's title challenge failure is frustrating: Sanchez

Nobody could question the effort of the Sunderland players at the Emirates and Moyes refuted any suggestions that teams with little to play for wouldn't give their all.

Finally, the saga will come to an end after the FA Cup final.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not anxious about losing Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez this summer and believes the pair want to remain at the Emirates Stadium next season. The Arsenal boss would not answer if Sunday's match would be his final premier League contest in charge of the Gunners.

Wenger is out of contract in the summer and has so far refused to reveal whether he will stay on. Sanchez, however, believes that Arsenal fans owe Wenger for his tremendous contribution to the club.

What Arsenal and their manager need to do is look at themselves and what they could have done better this season to put the team in a better position at this vital time in the campaign.

I don't think Arsenal's problems can be solved with just one major signing but it's important we send out a clear message of intent, especially with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea likely to spend heavily in the close-season.

Wenger then brought on Danny Welbeck and the former Manchester United man nearly made an immediate impact, forcing Pickford into a smart save with his low strike from just inside the box. Chelsea, crowned champions last week, finished 10th past year. Over the last few years, however, Arsenal has managed to return to winning ways and lifted two consecutive FA Cups in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

"In my opinion, that is very bad", Sanchez said.

Sanchez has now spoken on whether he could remain in North London, insisting the emphasis is on the club to make up his mind as to whether he stays or goes.

Speaking afterwards, Wenger said, "With him, I feel he had something still left, but once he's on the pitch and gets the ball, he always becomes a devil and forgets his pain". What they like, what they don't like. I thought they showed great character. Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern, they always buy more players and I think we can have the option to buy more players to be stronger every day.

Wenger was again asked about his future. After scoring a magnificent goal, Sanchez ran towards the stands to celebrate with the fans and in the process, thumped the Arsenal badge on his shirt while repeatedly pointing to the ground.
